The EMT program is designed to provide an introductory learning experience for persons interested in the field of pre-hospital emergency medicine. The course includes practical and computer-based testing in the classroom, as well as clinical and field experience in area hospitals and with local EMS agencies. The EMT course runs for approximately 165 hours over the course of a semester.

The primary focus of the emergency medical technician is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for patients who access the emergency medical system. Emergency medical technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight.

Program preparing students to provide emergency medical assessment, care and transportation of acutely ill or injured patients of all ages with proficiency in clinical and field experience.

This program will prepare the student to be a competent entry-level EMT. Students will be required to complete 36 field internship hours and 24 clinical internship hours. The course emphasizes development of student skills in a patient assessment-based program, recognition of signs and symptoms regarding illness or injury and proper procedures when rendering emergency care.

A comprehensive program consisting of six modules, clinical experience, and CPR. The classroom courses are taught at the NCC campus, and clinical experience is obtained at various approved clinical sites including hospital and ambulance settings.

Certificate program providing overview of anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, patient assessment, and basic life support in relation to cardiac arrest, trauma, and other medical emergencies. Instruction in extrication of the injured is also covered.

Non-credit EMS program preparing students for EMT certification, with tuition including books, fees, and required materials.

A Career Academy program for high school juniors and seniors offering foundational knowledge in emergency care systems, medical ethics, infection control, and patient assessment. Students practice life-saving skills in simulated and real emergency environments and can earn state and national EMT certification.

EMT training equips individuals to provide emergency medical care, including assessing patients, performing basic life support, and transporting to medical facilities. Students will be eligible for National and Iowa certification upon successful completion.

A certificate program that develops skill and knowledge in providing basic life support management of medical and traumatic emergencies. The program focuses on patient assessment, history-taking, and management of cardiopulmonary, medical, behavioral, environmental, and childbirth emergencies. Prepares students for state and National EMT Certification exams.

Designed to prepare students for the National Registry exam for certification as an EMT. Follows the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Department of Transportation (DOT) EMT curriculum.

The Mary Greeley EMT course consists of 160 hours of classroom and skills lab and 32 hours of clinical and ride time. Students learn anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, patient assessment, airway management, cardiac arrest management, shock, pharmacology, ambulance operations, radio communications, and more. Classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evening from 6-10 PM with 1 Saturday class each month.

A hybrid format combining online class lectures with several all-day Saturday skills sessions held at NCC. The blend of online with face-to-face skills labs shortens the duration of the course.
