Prepares students to provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation. Divided over 2 semesters with Advanced EMT content followed by Patient Care course curriculum. Advanced skills include IV placement and maintenance, introduction to cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and electrocardiogram interpretation.

Follows the current National Standard Curriculum for a 112-hour training course. Includes all skills and classroom information necessary to provide emergency care at the basic life support level. Allows students to gain a broad view of directly assisting patients, physicians, nurses and other health care professionals in a variety of healthcare environments. Students gain knowledge in 12-lead electrocardiogram monitoring, venipuncture (phlebotomy procedures), laboratory diagnostics, and point of care testing.
