Earn a New York State EMT-Basic certification, good for three years. Approximately 180 hours. Designed to provide rescuers with emergency medical knowledge and skills necessary to care for the sick and injured in a pre-hospital setting, including recognition and treatment of respiratory and circulatory emergencies, trauma, medical emergencies, environmental injuries, emergency childbirth, and psychological emergencies.
