A 6-credit certificate program offering 120 hours of instruction in basic life support. Students learn about acute illnesses, medical emergencies, traumatic emergencies, childbirth, rescue extrication, ambulance operations, splinting techniques, communication and documentation, medical-legal implications, AED/CPR, and basic medications. The program combines classroom lectures with hands-on lab days and prepares students for national and state certification exams.
