Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) by helping to sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until more advanced medical help takes over. Course meets or exceeds Emergency Medical Services Educational Standards for Emergency Medical Responders and is consistent with current guidelines for first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation care. Successful students receive two certification cards: American Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder and American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.
