The Emergency Medical Responder program at LTCC equips students with essential skills to sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize injury consequences during emergencies. It prepares participants to make informed care decisions and meets national standards for EMR training. Graduates receive certification from the American Red Cross in EMR and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers.

Provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) by helping to sustain life, reduce pain, and minimize the consequences of injury or sudden illness until more advanced medical help takes over. Course meets or exceeds Emergency Medical Services Educational Standards for Emergency Medical Responders and is consistent with current guidelines for first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation care. Successful students receive two certification cards: American Red Cross Emergency Medical Responder and American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers.

A comprehensive 27-hour EMT Refresher Course designed to provide essential skills sign-offs, EMS updates, and continuing education for EMTs and paramedics. This in-person course runs over three consecutive days and meets the full renewal requirements for EMTs in California, as well as providing partial hours for NREMT certification renewal.
