The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Certificate includes basic and limited advanced skills focused on the acute management and transportation of critical and emergent patients. Studies include pharmacological interventions, airway management, and intravenous therapy. Designed to prepare individuals for licensure as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician by the Tennessee Department of Health.

Students learn basic life support skills including patient assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, treatment of burns, splinting of fractures, dressing and bandaging wounds, and oxygen therapy. Upon completion, students are eligible to sit for the National Registry's written and practical examinations and the State of Tennessee EMT license.
