<cite index="37-10,37-11,37-12,37-13">Dixie Tech's accredited Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program equips students with advanced life saving techniques that are critical in the moments between an emergency and hospital care. Building on the foundational EMT program, which must be completed as a prerequisite, the AEMT program features advanced coursework, hands-on lab training, and expert instruction. Students develop critical skills in patient assessment, airway management, IV therapy, EKG interpretation, pharmacology, and more, preparing them for a vital role within the EMS system. Coursework also includes trauma, cardiac, pediatric, geriatric, and medical emergencies, along with a focus on communication and documentation.</cite>
