Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians work in city ambulance services, fire departments, volunteer services and hospitals. The program prepares students to assess, treat and transport patients to the hospital. Students start with AEMT-Basic and progress to Advanced-Emergency Medical Technician, with the option to further their skills through the Paramedic Program. The program complies with all Texas Department of State Health Services regulations and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
