The Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Protection Technology builds upon completion of the Fire Academy, providing advanced courses for first-level supervision. These courses offer certifications with the Texas Commission on Fire Protection to improve career prospects in the fire service. The curriculum is designed to enhance practical skills and career advancement for aspiring and current firefighters.

The program prepares students to assess, treat and transport patients to the hospital. Students start with AEMT-Basic and progress to Advanced-Emergency Medical Technician, with the option to further their skills through the Paramedic Program. The program complies with all Texas Department of State Health Services regulations and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs.
