The program provides students with the knowledge and skills required to function within the Emergency Medical Services System. Courses progress from EMT to Paramedic. Students who successfully complete the program will receive a Northeastern Junior College Certificate of Occupational Proficiency and will be allowed to sit for the National Registry Paramedic Exam. The program is 45 credits and offered in a hybrid format with online classes via Zoom and labs at Northeastern.

All developing firefighters are required to attend paramedic school, which usually takes place during the Firefighter Development Process or prior to completing three years of service. The District covers all paramedic education costs.
