EMT training in Arkansas.

Designed to prepare students for the EMT license exam administered by the Arkansas Health Department. The course includes basic anatomy, emergency care of patients, and emphasis on emergency intervention at an EMT level. Students are required to be Health Care Provider CPR certified through program completion.

A one-semester Certificate of Proficiency program that prepares students to care for patients at the scene of an accident and while transporting patients by ambulance to the hospital under medical direction. Students learn airway management, CPR, AED, immobilization/splinting, medications, and auto extrication. Upon completion, students are eligible to take the State of Arkansas and National Registry EMT-Basic Practical and Written examinations for certification.

The UAMCTM EMT-Basic Program provides students with the skills, knowledge, and clinical experience required to provide safe and effective prehospital care. The program integrates classroom, laboratory, and applied clinical practice following the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards. The program works with local ambulance services and hospitals to provide medical and trauma training in prehospital settings, emergency departments, and specialty rotations. Successful graduates are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification examination and apply for licensure through the State of Arkansas.

One-semester Certificate of Proficiency course providing training to recognize, assess, and manage medical emergencies of acutely ill or injured patients in pre-hospital care settings. Includes 48-hour clinical internship and 24-hour field internship.

This program is designed to prepare students for the basic EMT certification administered by the Arkansas Health Department. The course includes 128 hours of instruction and clinical experience, 8 college credit hours (Technical not College Transfer), and instruction in anatomy, dealing with trauma, splinting, use of spine boards, bandaging, and emergency care of patients with an emphasis on emergency intervention at a basic level.

Approximately 9-week training program fully compliant with requirements to prepare candidates for NREMT practical and written exams for certification. Minimum qualification for most Northwest Arkansas regional fire departments.

The EMSC 10008 course is an introduction to emergency medical services and the basic principles, procedures, and techniques of pre-hospital emergency care. Instruction includes a minimum of 120 contact hours of lecture and 48 hours of clinical practice, which includes 16 hours in the emergency room setting and a minimum of 14 emergency calls with an ambulance service. The course is based on the National Standard Curriculum Guidelines as developed by the Department of Transportation. Successful completion prepares students to apply for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician examination to earn EMT national certification.

Prepares students to challenge the national licensure exam (NREMT) and begin or continue careers in emergency medical services. Follows current National EMS Education Standards and complies with Arkansas Office of EMS and Trauma Systems rules and regulations.

The Emergency Medical Technician Certificate of Proficiency provides entry-level skills for employment by an Emergency Medical Service provider. Students complete EMS-1105 and EMS-1003 and are eligible to challenge the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) EMT-Basic exam. The program includes 24 hours in the emergency room with multiple patient contacts and 24 hours of ambulance ride time with at least 4 patient contacts.

EMT training for Fire Department members only

The EMT program is designed to provide students with knowledge of pre-hospital care and skills. Students are eligible to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exam for the EMT provider level upon completion.

Basic Emergency Medical Services Training course designed to train students to perform in pre-hospital care of acutely ill or injured patients. Completion with a C or better and passing the state exam is a prerequisite to enter the Paramedic program.

Eight credit hour program offering knowledge and skills in basic life support including first aid, oxygen administration, airway management, CPR, automated defibrillation, and care for wounds, fractures and other injuries. Can be accomplished in one to two semesters.

An 8-credit-hour certificate program providing an introductory course in emergency medical service systems and the basic principles of emergency care. Through didactic and clinical instruction, students gain critical knowledge in emergency medical care, patient assessment, trauma response, and life-saving interventions. Students are prepared for the National Registry EMT-Basic written and practical examinations.

Prepares students for licensure as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) with classroom instruction, hospital and ambulance clinical experiences, and field internships with an Advanced Life Support (ALS) EMS service provider.

The EMT curriculum was developed by the U.S. DOT and is designed to enable students to become effective EMTs. The course combines both classroom and clinical hours in the ambulance.

The EMT program focuses on basic life support skills including airway maintenance, respiratory support, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, fracture immobilization, and patient assessment. Upon successful completion of this semester-long program, students receive a Certificate of Proficiency and sit for the Emergency Medical Technician National Registry Exam.

Entry-level professional program in emergency medical services providing basic life support pre-hospital care. Consists of 6 semester credits in Introduction to Emergency Medical Technology. Classes meet two days per week for one semester, offered every fall, spring, and summer.

A 16-week course providing training and education in pre-hospital emergency patient care. The curriculum includes classroom lectures, online assignments and clinical hours, with students gaining experience in hospital and pre-hospital settings. Upon successful graduation, students are eligible to test at the National and State level for EMT-Basic.

A one-semester Certificate of Proficiency (CP) in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic training.

Intensive 8-10 week paid-to-learn EMT-Basic program with tuition, test fees, books, and training covered. Students earn salary and benefits while training. Typically offered three times per year.
