The Department of Emergency Healthcare at Weber State University offers entry-level EMT-Basic training and advanced paramedic programs. The program was the first accredited paramedic program in Utah and one of the first in the nation, established in the mid-1970s.

8-week hybrid course designed for experienced paramedics and registered nurses. Comprehensive advanced level class to improve patient assessment and management of critically ill patients. Earns six upper division college credits.

One-semester, entry-level course consisting of approximately 150 hours of lectures, lab work, and field internship with a local EMS agency. Offered in day and evening options during fall and spring semesters, and as a condensed seven-week option in summer.

Online paramedic program with 36 credit hours over two semesters. Evening lectures offered online; students attend campus every other weekend for skills lab. Designed for non-traditional students and those outside Utah.

36-credit hour program to prepare students to become a paramedic. Fall cohort is state-subsidized with Monday and Friday lectures (1:00-5:00 PM), Wednesday skills labs (9:00 AM-5:00 PM), and up to 240 hours of clinical hospital rotations. Lectures can be attended on campus or online for select individuals.
