The Waynesboro First Aid Crew is a combination agency providing EMS and rescue services to the City of Waynesboro and portions of Augusta County. They operate with both volunteer and career personnel, responding to over 5,000 emergency calls annually, and offer services including Basic and Advanced Life Support.

Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Waynesboro First Aid Crew

The EMT program trains individuals to respond quickly to medical emergencies, providing non-invasive interventions such as bleeding control, CPR, and splinting. The program requires a minimum of 180 hours of classroom training, followed by completion of a national certification exam. Participants will also gain real-world experience through field training and must maintain certification through continued education.

Paramedic Training

Waynesboro First Aid Crew

The Paramedic course is the most advanced level of EMS training, involving 1,800-2,000 hours of study plus clinical practice. Students will learn life-saving procedures including intubation and cardiac monitoring. Certification requires passing a comprehensive exam and ongoing education every two years to maintain proficiency.
