An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergency situations, providing care needed to stabilize patients. The EMT certificate provides the basic knowledge and skills needed to fill this important role. Students complete 16 credit hours in one semester including a one-hour field internship. Upon completion, students may take the National Registry's written and practical exams and are eligible for a Tennessee EMT License.
