Wake County EMS Apprenticeship Program

The Wake County EMS Apprenticeship Program is for EMTs beginning in the summer after their high school graduation. Participants work with Wake County EMS and complete their associate's degree in EMS at no cost, progressing from EMT certification through paramedic certification with field training.

A paid apprenticeship program for North Carolina certified EMTs beginning within 120 days of high school graduation. Includes academy training (Monday-Friday), on-duty EMS shifts, and paramedic course through community college with all fees waived.

Apprentices are enrolled in a paramedic course through an area community college with all fees waived. Upon completion, participants continue with field training at the paramedic level until medical clearance exam.
