A course that transitions EMTs to current National Registry Advanced EMT standards, focusing on assessment and management of medical emergencies and trauma in the prehospital environment. Students attend class, lab, simulation, and clinical experiences in the Emergency Department and on an ambulance.

A three- to six-semester certificate program that includes independent study, online discussions, lectures, demonstrations, and practice in an Emergency Medical Services (EMS) lab. Under preceptor supervision, students provide patient care in a variety of pre-hospital and in-hospital healthcare settings. Upon completion, graduates are eligible to apply to take the National Registry of EMTs' Paramedic examination.
