A 6 semester credit hour entry-level certificate program consisting of two courses (EMSP 1501 classroom/lab and EMSP 1160 clinical) offered during the summer semester only. Classroom instruction covers Basic Life Support knowledge and skills criteria, clinical and field internships. Successful completion prepares students for the National Registry of EMT certification examination.

Classroom instruction covers anatomy, physiology, patient assessment, advanced airway, shock/trauma management, cardiovascular disease recognition and management, advanced treatment protocols for trauma, medical and special patient emergencies, and clinical and field internship. Graduates are eligible to take the NREMT Paramedic certification examination.
