The Paramedical Essentials program is a partnership between the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority (REMSA Health) and University of Nevada, Reno, Extended Studies, offering rigorous paramedical training to prepare students for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic Exam.

Location:Redfield Campus

An intensive 12-month course of study leading to a certificate of completion and eligibility to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic (NREMT-P) exam. Includes 581 didactic hours, 228 clinical hours, and 480 internship hours. Clinical training entails 12-hour student rotations through St. Mary's, Renown Medical Center, Northern Nevada Medical Center and various local clinics. Students are placed with preceptors on ambulances and issued provisional licenses by the State of Nevada.
