The Emergency Medical Technician – Basic (EMT-B) Course is designed to prepare students to enter the Emergency Medical Services field at an entry level position as an EMT-Basic. The course is taught to National Education Standards and exceeds the minimum number of course hours required by the Texas Department of State Health Services. Approximately 15 weeks with 246 hours in classroom lectures & skills labs, 16 hours of hospital Emergency Department clinicals, and 48 hours of ambulance field rotations.
