Emergency Medical Technician

This course prepares individuals to render prehospital basic life support at the scene of an emergency, during transport of the sick and injured, or during interfacility transfer within an organized emergency medical services system. The course content follows the U.S. Department of Transportation National EMS Education Standards, equipping participants with the skills necessary for the EMT basic scope of practice. It includes 189 hours of training and 24 hours of clinical experience, exceeding California's EMT-B requirements.

South Bay Regional Fire Academy offers a California State Fire Training Accredited Fire Fighter 1 Academy. The academy offers full-time and part-time options to accommodate different schedules and learning preferences.
