The Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course trains individuals—ages 14 and up—in entry-level emergency care skills such as rapid assessment, airway management, bleeding control, and patient stabilization in accordance with national and local protocols. Designed to support EMTs in the field, the program includes a textbook, uniform polo, and clinical rotations, and offers post credits for police officers.

Seymour Ambulance’s EMT-Basic course is a rigorous 160+ hour program combining classroom instruction, hands-on skills labs, and online learning to train students in providing emergency medical care at the basic life support level, in accordance with state and national standards. The course includes extensive clinical and physical requirements, and offers a tuition reimbursement incentive for those who volunteer for up to two years, with training in CPR, SMART triage, EVOC driving, Mental Health First Aid, and more.
