Riverland Community College is a member of the Minnesota State system offering the Emergency Medical Care Certificate with hands-on training, EMT certification prep, and clinical experience with local ambulance services. The program prepares graduates for employment as EMTs in Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support medical transportation services.

Fulfills Minnesota Emergency Medical Services Regulatory Board (EMSRB) requirements for First Responder. Includes care of the sick and injured prior to EMS arrival, CPR/AED, triage, use of emergency care equipment and patient disentanglement.

Provides basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation for critical and emergent patients. Upon successful completion, participants are eligible for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician's exam.

Advanced ITLS training provided by Riverland as the Minnesota Chapter for ITLS.

As the Minnesota Chapter for ITLS, Riverland provides basic ITLS training including Pediatric Trauma Life Support.
