Emergency Medical Responder (EMR)

Richmond Technical Center

This course prepares students to provide immediate life-saving interventions. Topics include EMS systems, medical emergencies, trauma, and placement in the pre-hospital setting. It aligns with Virginia's didactic and lab requirements for EMR training.

Emergency Medical Technician I (EMT I)

Richmond Technical Center

This course follows NEMSES and covers EMS basics, anatomy, and medical terminology. Students gain skills in patient care, scene assessment, and understand shock, resuscitation, and trauma. Completion and endorsement allow progression to EMT II, leading to potential eligibility for the NREMT exam.

Emergency Medical Technician II (EMT II)

Richmond Technical Center

Building on EMT I, this course emphasizes EMS operations and management of special populations. Field experience with at least 10 patient contacts is required. Successful completion and endorsement can lead to eligibility for the NREMT exam.
