Our online American Heart Association (AHA) CPR course provides convenient, flexible training in the essential skills needed to respond to cardiac and breathing emergencies. Participants learn how to recognize cardiac arrest, perform high-quality CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and respond appropriately to choking emergencies. The online portion allows students to complete the instructional material at their own pace from a computer or mobile device. Depending on the certification selected, participants may also be required to complete an in-person, hands-on skills session with an authorized instructor before receiving their official AHA course completion card. This course is ideal for healthcare professionals, workplace employees, caregivers, teachers, coaches, and anyone who wants the confidence and skills to respond effectively during an emergency.
This course prepares students to provide entry-level emergency medical care in prehospital settings as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). Students will learn to assess patients, manage medical and traumatic emergencies, perform lifesaving interventions, and safely transport patients under medical direction. The curriculum integrates didactic instruction, hands-on skills training, scenario-based simulations, and supervised clinical experiences. Emphasis is placed on patient assessment, airway and breathing management, bleeding control, medical and trauma emergencies, special populations, and EMS operations. Legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities of the EMT are reinforced throughout the course. Upon successful completion, students will demonstrate competence in cognitive knowledge, psychomotor skills, and professional behavior consistent with national EMT standards and will be eligible to sit for the applicable EMT certification examination, subject to state and national requirements.
