Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians have additional training beyond that of an EMT and provide basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients. AEMT training includes more invasive procedures than are covered at the EMT level, including IV therapy, the use of advanced airway devices, and advanced assessment skills.

Emergency Medical Responders help Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics in emergency situations and in the transport of patients. They provide early interventions such as basic life support until EMTs or Paramedics arrive. The EMR course will prepare you to become this first line of response.

Emergency Medical Technicians are often the first responders to emergency situations and provide pre-hospital care to patients who are sick or injured. In the EMT course, you will learn the skills necessary to begin your career as an emergency medical personnel.

Paramedics are medical personnel whose primary role is to provide advanced emergency care. They possess the knowledge necessary to be an EMR, EMT, and AEMT and, in addition, provide invasive and pharmacological interventions. In the Paramedic course, you will learn all phases of prehospital advanced life support. Instruction includes EKG interpretation, as well as skills associated with the treatment and assessment of the cardiac, trauma and pediatric patients and usually lasts 13-15 months.
