Queensborough Community College offers a 220-hour Emergency Medical Technician course (HE-200) designed to prepare students for the New York State Department of Health emergency medical technician certification exam. A 220-hour course including 108 hours of lecture, 88 hours of practical skill instruction, and 24 hours spent on a 911 ambulance under the guidance of a preceptor. Students receive 9.5 college credits when registered through the Health and Physical Education department.

A non-credit bearing certification-only program covering all techniques and operational aspects of an EMT. Demonstration, practice, and clinical observation are integrated with free online FEMA classes.
