Cadet Program

Prince William County Public Safety Training Center

Offered through Prince William County Schools, this one-year program exposes students to a career in emergency services with a focus on firefighting skills. It includes field-specific training, CPR, first aid, and hazardous materials education. The program emphasizes team-building, leadership, respect, discipline, problem solving, and decision-making, providing a comprehensive and rigorous training environment for aspiring emergency service professionals.

Firefighter I & II

Prince William County Public Safety Training Center

Firefighter I & II is an entry-level course designed for new firefighters and includes classroom study, scenarios, and homework to prepare participants for fire ground functions under officer supervision. The course is 420 hours long and covers essential skills like HazMat awareness, stress first aid, infection control, and medical clearance. Students obtain certifications like HazMat Operations, LPG Lecture, and Mayday Firefighter Down upon completion.

Paramedic Program

Prince William County Public Safety Training Center

The intensive 49-week Paramedic program is accredited and offers high-quality training to eligible EMTs who have two years of experience in the field. The program allows participants to take the National Registry paramedic examination to gain national and state certifications in addition to acquiring advanced skills and competencies necessary for advanced life support. Hands-on training, simulations, and real-world scenarios form key components of the course.
