The Basic Life Support (BLS) course is designed for healthcare professionals who need to know how to perform CPR, as well as other lifesaving skills, in a wide variety of in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings. The course equips participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, perform high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. These skills are taught in a dynamic group environment using the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique.
