Pierce College is a community college district serving over 14,000 students annually with campuses at Fort Steilacoom and Puyallup. The EMS program is Washington State approved and all classes are registered with the National Registry of EMT (NREMT), with faculty comprised of paramedics and EMTs working in the emergency medical services community.

A two-year degree that prepares students to continue their education in emergency management or to become certified as a paramedic.

Designed for working EMS professionals to obtain their Paramedic pre-requisites in order to qualify to apply to the 1-year Paramedic Certificate program at Pierce College.

The EMT certification at Pierce College offers foundational education and training necessary to work on a private ambulance or as a firefighter. Graduates learn to assess, manage, and mitigate trauma and medical crises, and the program qualifies students to take the NREMT Exam. Designed for flexibility, students can enroll year-round and complete the program in one term to enter the workforce quickly.

A one-year cohort program that prepares current EMTs for a larger scope of practice with field experience in the community. The program runs annually from January to December. The Pierce College Paramedic program has been issued a Letter of Review by the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

Focuses on medical training only and can be completed in one term (12 weeks during fall, winter, and spring terms, or 8 weeks during summer term). Qualifies students to take the National Registry of EMT (NREMT) Exam.
