An initial certification course consisting of lectures, hands-on skills training, a field placement internship, and at least 10 live patient contacts. Students learn the responsibilities of entry-level EMT professionals to provide care in various settings and practice responding to emergency calls ranging from car accidents, violent traumas, heart attacks, childbirth, and falls.
