Prepares students for the foundation skills of emergency medical knowledge. Students learn psychomotor skills and application to provide basic life support as an Emergency Medical Technician. Curriculum follows the most current educational standards outlined by the Minnesota EMS Regulatory Board and the National Registry of EMTs.

Meets the initial requirements of the EMS Regulatory Board and the National Registry for EMTs for direct employment with an Emergency Ambulance Service, basic transport service, emergency room, law enforcement, or fire department. Successful completion of the course, practical skills exam, and designated readiness written exams allows students eligibility to take the National Registry Exam.
