The Middlebury Volunteer Fire Department, founded in 1941, has served the community for over 75 years with a dedicated team of 120 volunteers, including 60 active firefighters, responding to about 1,300 emergency calls annually from two fire stations. Equipped with engines, squads, ambulances, and specialized gear, the MVFD continues to seek adult Middlebury residents to join their ranks and help meet growing community needs.

EMS training for Fire Fighter EMTs, EMRs, and Ambulance Auxiliary members is held quarterly, with schedules released as available, and additional ongoing training is encouraged in collaboration with local EMS agencies. EMTs and EMRs are individually responsible for arranging their own recertification training.
