MetroAtlanta EMS Academy is a collaboration between Kennesaw State University WellStar School of Nursing and MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service, offering EMS professionals educational advancement. It provides instruction and practical training to pass certification exams for EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic roles, ensuring quality emergency medical services.

AEMT Program

MetroAtlanta EMS Academy

The AEMT Program is approved by the Georgia Department of Public Health and is geared towards EMTs employed by MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service. It teaches advanced skills beyond EMT basics, such as medication administration, performing advanced airway techniques, and intravenous therapy. Courses are conducted twice a year, tailoring to the hectic schedules of working EMS professionals.

Basic Life Support

MetroAtlanta EMS Academy

The Basic Life Support course is designed for prehospital and in-facility providers, teaching core skills for emergency response. Participants complete rigorous training modules that develop proficiency in CPR, AED use, and basic patient management techniques. Successful attendees receive a certification card valid for two years, critical for employment in many emergency response roles.

Paramedic Program

MetroAtlanta EMS Academy

The Paramedic Class is offered annually and trains students to become Nationally Registered Paramedics. The comprehensive curriculum includes academic instruction, clinical experiences at healthcare facilities, and field training with MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service. This program focuses on progressive skills development and meets stringent national instructional standards.
