The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) is trained to provide a higher level of patient care beyond the EMT scope of practice. AEMT courses are offered twice per year. Program is open to currently certified EMTs employed by MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service.

The AEMT Program is approved by the Georgia Department of Public Health and is geared towards EMTs employed by MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service. It teaches advanced skills beyond EMT basics, such as medication administration, performing advanced airway techniques, and intravenous therapy. Courses are conducted twice a year, tailoring to the hectic schedules of working EMS professionals.
The AEMT Program is approved by the Georgia Department of Public Health and is geared towards EMTs employed by MetroAtlanta Ambulance Service. It teaches advanced skills beyond EMT basics, such as medication administration, performing advanced airway techniques, and intravenous therapy. Courses are conducted twice a year, tailoring to the hectic schedules of working EMS professionals.
The Basic Life Support course is designed for prehospital and in-facility providers, teaching core skills for emergency response. Participants complete rigorous training modules that develop proficiency in CPR, AED use, and basic patient management techniques. Successful attendees receive a certification card valid for two years, critical for employment in many emergency response roles.

Full-time paid EMT recruit class starting May 5, 2026. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 0700–1530. Participants must sign a two-year employment agreement.

The program curriculum combines academic and clinical experiences in the classroom, at local healthcare facilities and with Metro Atlanta Ambulance Service. Program is accredited by CAAHEP/CoAEMSP.
