45-hour Fire Officer 1 course meeting NFPA 1021 and NJAC 5:73-8.2. Covers the company officer role, basic management and leadership, firefighter health and safety, resources, planning, fire prevention, building construction, risk management, and an introduction to fireground tactics. Completers are eligible for the NJ Fire Officer 1 certification test. Prerequisites: NJ Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Incident Management Level 1, Hazmat Awareness, and Hazmat Operations. Tuition: $250 in-county, $260 out of county.
