A course designed to prepare students to pass the NREMT certification exams and work as a competent entry-level EMT. Students gain knowledge and skills to assess and manage a variety of injuries and illnesses, including emergency scene management, anatomy and physiology, airway management, spinal and bone/joint motion restriction, ambulance operation, and specialty topics. Clinical experience with minimum hours required on an ambulance is mandatory.

Offered as a hybrid course with approximately 8 hours of online (didactic) training followed by an eight-hour skills day.

Teaches basic safety at emergency scenes, fundamentals of patient assessment, basic airway control methods, emergency splinting, and hemorrhage control. Students successfully completing this course are eligible to apply for the National Registry EMR Certification examination.

Tuesdays are required in-person classroom days from 9am-5pm. Students complete clinical rotations in various hospital departments and ambulances, followed by field internship on an ALS Ambulance. Tuition includes PHTLS, ACLS, EPC, and BLS (renewal) certifications.
