This program is designed to instruct students to the level of Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) based upon the new National EMS Education Standards. These AEMTs will provide both basic and limited advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system (EMS). AEMTs function as part of the comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight.
