The Advanced EMT program provides advanced education in emergency medical services. This program enhances an EMT's skills and knowledge for providing comprehensive pre-hospital care. It requires successful completion of the EMT level, and culminates in an Advanced EMT certification after a semester of study and successful examination for Alabama state licensure.

The EMT program prepares students for entry-level pre-hospital emergency care. It focuses on the cognitive, psychomotor, and affective learning domains required for Emergency Medical Technicians. Students are trained through theoretical and hands-on experiences to pass the National Registry exam and obtain their Alabama state license, readying them for the EMS workforce.
