The Emergency Medical Responder course provides training to manage the first few minutes of a medical emergency. It is a one-quarter course involving lectures and scenario-based learning, designed for personal enrichment or introduction to medical careers. Completing this course enables management of emergencies until advanced help arrives.

This demanding, two-quarter course prepares students to respond to 911 calls for emergency medical assistance and implement treatment plans for patients with life-threatening conditions. The program includes classroom, lab, and clinical training following the National Education Guidelines. Graduates are eligible for EMT certification and may work in various emergency settings.
