The AHA's ACLS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR.

The BLS Course trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an AED. The EMR Bridge to EMT course is provided in a blended online format. Any current EMR that has an unexpired Minnesota certification as an EMR is eligible for this bridge course. This blended-online course requires a large amount of computer work outside of on-campus class meetings.
