EMT

Contra Costa College

The EMT program at Contra Costa College enables students to become certified Emergency Medical Technicians in just one semester. This hands-on training includes the use of advanced tools, simulators, and a college-owned ambulance for real-world experience. The curriculum covers monitoring vital signs, CPR, and managing emergency situations, with an included ride-along component to meet local first responders and prepare for the national registry exam.

Paramedic Studies

Contra Costa College

The Paramedic Studies program at Contra Costa College is a comprehensive 16-month course designed to prepare students for advanced roles in emergency medical services. Featuring at least 1,290 hours of lecture, lab, and clinical practice, the program includes a rigorous training schedule of intense lectures, hospital rotations, and field internships. Upon completion, graduates earn college credits and are eligible for national certification and state licensure exams.
