A ten-credit-hour certificate program requiring a minimum of 180 hours of core curriculum training in emergency care skills including management of bleeding, fractures, airway obstruction, cardiac arrest, and emergency childbirth. Students develop patient assessment skills and learn to use common emergency equipment. The program prepares students for the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) certification exam and Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) state licensing exam.
