An 8-credit course using the 2009 curriculum adapted by the Arizona Department of Health Services. This course will help prepare students for the National Registry of EMTs and certification as an AZ EMT. Students learn the techniques of pre-hospital emergency medical care for the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), including history of emergency medical care delivery systems, roles and responsibilities of EMS providers, ethical and legal issues, patient assessment, symptoms of illnesses and injuries, medical emergencies, appropriate medical techniques, triage, and ambulance operations.

A 4-day refresher course for EMTs with current or expired certification. Course meets Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00am to 5:00pm. AHA BLS Provider CPR refresher can be included but requires separate registration and online work.

Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Fourth Street Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. with additional clinical and vehicular hours required. Fees include all books, Northern Arizona Healthcare clinical fees, Platinum course management program, CCC lab fees, and class shirts.
