The Accelerated Advanced Emergency Medical Technician Technical Certificate is comprised of integrated Emergency Medical Technician and Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (EMT/AEMT) courses offered in an accelerated academy-style program. This 18-hour program offers two certificates and is designed to educate and train students to serve as a vital member of a pre-hospital EMS team. Class size is limited to 12 students with class three days a week and 144 hours of clinical time.

The AEMT certificate program builds on EMT skills, preparing students to provide advanced emergency care and transport. It includes both classroom and clinical training to develop competencies in a range of emergency scenarios. Graduates are prepared for state licensure and various EMS career opportunities.

The AEMT performs emergency medical care to and transports ill and injured persons adhering to the protocols of the service and applicable federal state and local laws, regulations, and statutes. This certificate allows for a state license and is the second level of a three tier program for a pre-hospital emergency medical career. Prerequisites: Tennessee EMT license or National Registry EMT Certification required.

Associate degree curriculum designed to prepare graduates to enter the workforce as paramedics. Provides opportunity for career enhancement. Bridging option offers credentialed EMT-Paramedics 51 hours of Advanced Placement credit.

The EMT-Basic program equips students to perform emergency medical care and transport for ill and injured persons, adhering to legal protocols and standards. Students will gain fundamental skills and knowledge to operate effectively in pre-hospital settings. The program culminates with the ability to demonstrate growth in delivering safe emergency care.

The EMT-Basic performs emergency medical care to and transports ill and injured persons adhering to the protocols of the service and applicable federal state and local laws, regulations, and statutes. The program is 16 hours and is delivered through a combination of classroom instruction (didactic and psychomotor) and clinical experience.

Introduces basic emergency medical care covering preparatory, airway, patient assessment, medical emergencies, trauma, infants and children, and operations. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve North Carolina State or National Registry EMT certification.

Designed to meet North Carolina Office of EMS Recertification and Refresher Program Guidelines for EMT credential renewal. Can also be used to renew EMR credential. Covers airway, respiration and ventilation, cardiovascular, trauma, medical, pediatrics, and operations.

Prepares paramedics competent in cognitive (knowledge), psychomotor (skills), and affective (behavior) learning domains. Builds upon knowledge of credentialed EMTs and AEMTs, covering cardiology, advanced airway management, pharmacology, medication administration, and patient assessment. Program is accredited by CAAHEP upon recommendation of CoAEMSP.

The Paramedic A.A.S. degree prepares AEMTs to use critical thinking skills to provide medical treatment for patients with illness or injury-related disease. The program is 63 credit hours and is completed over three terms. Paramedic training is delivered through a combination of classroom instruction (didactic and psychomotor skills) and a blend of clinical/field experience.

Designed to meet North Carolina Office of EMS Recertification and Refresher Program Guidelines for Paramedic credential renewal. Covers airway, respiration and ventilation, cardiovascular, trauma, medical, pediatrics, and operations with both BLS and ALS content.

The Paramedic Technical Certificate is a 43-hour certificate program completed over three semesters. Students must already be licensed as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) before beginning the program. Upon successful completion, students are eligible to sit for the National Registry's written and practical examinations.
