The EMT program provides basic life support care training to critically ill or injured patients. Students learn to manage airways, assess illness severity, manage wounds and bleeding, immobilize fractures, perform CPR, and utilize automated defibrillators. The program consists of four noncredit courses (EMT I, II, III) with supervised clinical practicum hours completed outside the classroom. The course is approximately 16 weeks with state and national tests taking an additional 2-3 weeks.

Emphasis is placed on the full range of patient emergency care, under professional supervision.
