There are only 7 Saturday classes scheduled in this cohort.

Become a certified Emergency Medical Technician with Brookfield Fire/EMS. This comprehensive initial certification course prepares students for the NREMT exam and the State of Connecticut skills exam, combining classroom instruction, hands-on skills practice, and independent online learning.

Course Format

The course blends in-person classroom and skills instruction with independent activities completed outside of class.

Enrollment is limited in each cohort to maintain an optimal instructor-to-student ratio and ensure a strong student experience.

What's Included

Tuition covers everything you need to get started:

  • Course textbook and online learning access

  • AHA BLS (Healthcare Provider) CPR certification

  • Stethoscope and blood pressure cuff

  • Trauma shears and penlight

The NREMT exam fee and State of CT skills exam fee are not included; those are paid directly to the exam site and NREMT upon successful completion of the course.

Tuition & Payment

  • Tuition: $1,250 (no cash accepted)

  • A $400 minimum deposit secures your seat; the remaining balance is due by the first day of class

  • Book and syllabus are distributed once tuition is paid in full or the deposit is received

  • Payment by check or money order to Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company Inc.

  • Agency-sponsored students are welcome - invoicing available with a letter of verification from your organization.

What You'll Need

  • Access to a computer outside of class for homework, quizzes, and tests

  • A computer or tablet in class for the midterm and final exams

Instruction

Courses are taught by experienced, credentialed instructors, including paramedic-level (EMT-P / NREMT-P) faculty.
