Become a certified Emergency Medical Technician with Brookfield Fire/EMS. This comprehensive initial certification course prepares students for the NREMT exam and the State of Connecticut skills exam, combining classroom instruction, hands-on skills practice, and independent online learning.
The course blends in-person classroom and skills instruction with independent activities completed outside of class.
Enrollment is limited in each cohort to maintain an optimal instructor-to-student ratio and ensure a strong student experience.
Tuition covers everything you need to get started:
Course textbook and online learning access
AHA BLS (Healthcare Provider) CPR certification
Stethoscope and blood pressure cuff
Trauma shears and penlight
The NREMT exam fee and State of CT skills exam fee are not included; those are paid directly to the exam site and NREMT upon successful completion of the course.
Tuition: $1,250 (no cash accepted)
A $400 minimum deposit secures your seat; the remaining balance is due by the first day of class
Book and syllabus are distributed once tuition is paid in full or the deposit is received
Payment by check or money order to Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company Inc.
Agency-sponsored students are welcome - invoicing available with a letter of verification from your organization.
Access to a computer outside of class for homework, quizzes, and tests
A computer or tablet in class for the midterm and final exams
Courses are taught by experienced, credentialed instructors, including paramedic-level (EMT-P / NREMT-P) faculty.
