Bates Tech's first Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree and the only one of its kind in Washington state. Equips students with technical skills, leadership strategies, and management expertise needed for public safety leadership. Builds on fire service and cybersecurity programs. Addresses budgeting, personnel management, organizational collaboration, and emerging issues like cybercrimes, pandemics, infrastructure failures, and climate change-related disasters.

Prepares students for entry-level careers in emergency medical services. Students prepare for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician Certification Exam and meet employment requirements for an EMT, adhering to the National EMS Scope of Practice Model and National EMS Educational Standards.

A 29-credit, IFSAC-accredited program providing newly hired firefighters with knowledge and skills required to become a probationary firefighter. The course is 14 weeks of intense training. At completion, recruits obtain IFSAC certifications for HazMat Awareness and Operations, Firefighter I and II.
